Burial Beer is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead and unify front-of-house operations across our multi-concept hospitality and live music venues at our Buxton Avenue location on Asheville’s South Slope. This dynamic space brings together Eulogy, our live entertainment and private event venue, with VISUALS, our rooftop wine and cocktail bar. The two spaces operate as distinct concepts within a single, highly-integrated environment.
This is a hands-on, highly collaborative role for a leader who thrives in event-driven, high-energy settings and understands how to balance hospitality, live entertainment, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate leads from the floor, works alongside their teams, and brings a strong people-first leadership style grounded in strong self-accountability. What You’ll Do
Multi-Concept Operational Leadership
- Oversee all front-of-house operations across all concepts of Eulogy music venue and VISUALS Rooftop Wine Bar
- Establish and uphold service standards and hospitality culture that drive a consistent, seamless guest experience across multiple concepts, programs, and events.
- Maintain an active, visible leadership presence during peak service periods, concerts, and high-impact events
- Lead FOH Coordinators, Leads and service teams across both concepts
- Design and manage a unified, cross-trained staffing structure that supports multi-concept operations across spaces
- Oversee labor planning and coverage to balance service quality, employee experience, and financial performance
- Implement and manage fair, transparent tip pool structures.
- Own FOH labor budgets, productivity targets, and performance benchmarks.
- Monitor labor efficiency, event profitability, and service performance across concepts.
- Identify opportunities to improve revenue, operational efficiency, and guest experience.
- Report operational performance, insights, and recommendations to ownership and leadership.
- Oversee private events across both concepts, ensuring seamless integration with existing programming and public service
- Establish clear communication channels between all teams and foster collaborative, solution-oriented team and leadership culture
- Ensure consistent policies, SOPs, and service standards across concepts
Music Venue Oversight
- Oversee front-of-house operations for live music events including coordination with with booking, production, and bar teams to ensure smooth execution
- Directly manage and support the Talent Manager role and responsibilities related to bookings for music venue, Summer Concert Series and overall artist management on site
- Plan and staff live music events in alignment with operational needs, supporting effective service flow and guest experience
- Ensure all events are planned and executed with safety as a priority, maintaining compliance with venue policies, crowd management standards, and risk-mitigation practices.
Rooftop Bar Oversight:
- Manage service quality, staffing levels, and guest flow for rooftop operations
- Work with ownership and beverage leadership on wine bar programming and guest experience
- Ensure rooftop programming aligns with music venue and South Slope operations as a whole when applicable

- Deep understanding of Burial, VISUALS and Seance portfolio of products and brand narrative
- General understanding of different beer styles and draft systems.
- Effectively leads and integrates front-of-house operations across multiple, interconnected concepts by aligning people, systems, service standards, and communication to ensure consistent performance and guest experience
- Proactively designs and manages a unified labor strategy that balances service quality, employee experience, and financial performance across concepts
- Ensures operational safety by proactively identifying risk, enforcing venue policies, and maintaining compliance with safety protocols, crowd management, and incident-response standards during all events and service periods
- Owns FOH labor budgets, productivity targets, and performance benchmarks through ongoing monitoring of labor efficiency, event profitability, and service performance, while identifying opportunities for operational and revenue improvement.
- Exhibits strong financial acumen, multi-tasking abilities, and attention to detail
- Demonstrates an internal commitment to leading through values, using them to guide decision-making, promote self-accountability, reduce the need for micromanagement, and ensure accountability when values are not upheld
- Ability to maintain compliance to SOPs and product specifications, when it is necessary to protect company business and brand

Who We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of senior hospitality management experience, preferably within complex or high-volume operations
- Proven experience managing multiple concepts simultaneously, with a demonstrated ability to unify operations, teams, and service standards
- Strong background in live music, events, or entertainment-driven hospitality preferred
- Experience collaborating with or managing booking and/or programming teams is a plus
- Excellent people leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams in dynamic environments
- Comfortable working nights, weekends, and event-heavy schedules as required by live entertainment operations
- Calm under pressure, solutions-driven, and highly collaborative, with the ability to make sound decisions in fast-paced, high-impact settings
Physical Requirements
- Ability to bend over, twist, kneel, stand
- Ability to be on feet and walk for extended periods during events, concerts, and peak service times
- Ability to navigate multi-level, high-traffic hospitality and event environments
- Ability to work in loud, crowded, and fast-paced environments
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
