SanTan Brewing Company is looking for a Craft Beer Packager to join our team in Chandler, AZ.

Located in the Phoenix metro’s East Valley, SanTan was founded in 2007 in downtown Chandler, where we continue to operate a 15-bbl brewery & restaurant in our original location. In 2013, we added a production facility with a 50-bbl brewhouse, where we package beer in both cans and draft. SanTan branched out into distilled spirits in 2017 and is now Arizona’s largest distillery in addition to our brewery.

The Craft Beer Packager will report to the Packaging Management Team and Production Facility's Operation Manager while joining a team of 100+ production and restaurant staff.  

General responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Communicate and treat fellow co-workers and other members of the SanTan team with respect.
  • Adhere to a “Safety Always” mindset and comply with safety policies & programs
  • Approach every task with quality in mind, paying attention to detail & accuracy
  • Operation and light maintenance of the canning lines and kegging equipment. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to operate production line equipment
  • Proficiency in setting up for production startup
  • Aptitude for troubleshooting equipment
  • Capability to complete daily reports and records accurately and in a timely manner
  • Willingness to follow verbal and written instructions from management
  • Perform preventive maintenance routines as designated by the Production Manager.
  • Understand and adhere to company safety standards.
  • Clean, sanitize and maintain kegging/canning equipment and work areas.
  • Alert the packaging manager and/or Lab Tech to potential quality concerns.
  • Functions well as a member of a team.

MATERIALS/MACHINES/EQUIPMENT USED: 

  • Automated and manual packaging equipment
  • Forklift trucks (Training Provided).
  • A variety of hand and power tools
  • Cleaning agents and other hazardous chemicals

IMPORTANT SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • Experience in the beverage or food packaging line industry including: canning equipment, kegging equipment, and general safe handling and cleaning practices preferred.
  • An aptitude for troubleshooting basic mechanical & electrical systems is required.
  • Strong attention to detail & quality.
  • Experience with basic sanitation practices.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to be comfortable working in a team environment with a great deal of interdepartmental coordination.
  • The ability and aptitude to work with and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends and to respond to emergencies if needed
  • Minimum of high-school diploma; education beyond high school strongly preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Qualified candidates must be able to stand on their feet for long periods of time and perform physically demanding work
  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and climb.
  • Ability to frequently talk, hear, and smell.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds safely with proper body mechanics and occasionally maneuver 165 lb kegs.
  • Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms. Use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Willingness to work in an environment with high noise levels and temperature fluctuation is required
