Billings Sales Rep (Remote)

MAP Brewing Company is proud to be the largest self-distributing brewery in Montana - a commitment that allows us to deliver exceptional customer service and consistently fresh beer.  As we expand into the Billings area over the coming year, we’re looking for a versatile Sales Representative to take on a dynamic, hands-on role that combines sales, delivery, and draught line maintenance. The ideal candidate is organized, knowledgeable, personable, and aligned with MAP’s core values and culture - someone who is trustworthy and who can juggle a wide range of responsibilities.  Think of this position as a “beer rep Swiss Army knife” - someone who can handle sales, inventory accuracy, logistics, distribution, merchandising, and the occasional troubleshooting or draught maintenance task. Above all, this person should excel at building authentic relationships and be someone who approaches challenges with a positive attitude, creativity, and problem-solving skills. 

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE: 

Market Development in Billings Region

• Help head Sales Rep and Wholesale Team develop launch plan for MAP Brewing’s entry into the Billings market.
• Set goals for distribution including number of accounts and volume of beer. 
• Anticipate needs as market distribution grows, and ensure adequate stock is available in Billings warehouse 

Sales

• Help head Sales Rep and Wholesale Team develop launch plan for MAP Brewing’s entry into the Billings market.
• Create and maintain productive relationships with client accounts, focusing on exceptional customer service. 
• Visit accounts regularly and cater to their needs. 
• Maintain sample inventory to ensure ability to connect with account managers on short notice.
• Manage Accounts Receivable
  • collecting payments to ensure compliance with our net 7 payment process
  • coordination with accounting for collections lists and overdue payments.

Sales Events and Promotions

• Help represent MAP at external events as necessary, which may include some weekends and evenings.  This includes set up, pouring during the event, tear down, and transportation.
• Plan and execute on- and off-premise promotional events at accounts.
• Coordinate with marketing for event and promotional material needs.
• Support and promote MAP's mission and core values.

Delivery

• Create delivery routes with attention to logistics and efficiency. 
• Load and deliver product in a timely manner. 
• Deliver product and invoices, maintaining attention to detail in ensuring product is stacked neatly and rotated.  
• Merchandise and refill shelf space between deliveries.

Draught System Maintenance/Troubleshooting

• Troubleshoot issues at accounts that have kegged beer on tap, providing maintenance as needed as well.   
• Keep track of and execute a rotating draught line cleaning schedule, maintaining best practice for line cleaning procedures and attention to safety.

Inventory/Cold Storage 

• Operate forklift, powerjack, and pallet jack to load and unload vehicles and organize storage.
• Receive and organize inventory at storage site.
• Track and maintain accurate inventory.  
• Maintain frequent communication with main brewery to ensure proper inventory is maintained for continued service to Billings accounts.

IDEALLY, THIS CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE:

Desired sales experience:  

• • Sales and distribution experience selling craft beer is greatly preferred
  • Experience in the Billings market preferred
  • Candidate should possess familiarity with the craft beer industry including current beer trends, as well as knowledge of Montana beer, brewing, and distribution laws

Desired delivery experience:  

• • Clean driving record required
  • Experience driving in challenging winter conditions required
  • Experience driving large delivery vans and box trucks is preferred
  • Current forklift certification is preferred 

Desired draught system experience:  

• • Basic draught system knowledge is greatly preferred, including:
    • Maintenance
