Job Purpose:

Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor oversees all maintenance operations for the brewery, ensuring that production equipment, utilities, and facilities operate efficiently, safely, and reliably. This role leads the maintenance team in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Maintenance Supervisor works closely with brewing, packaging, and warehouse teams to minimize downtime, manage maintenance budgets, and uphold high standards of quality, safety, and sanitation throughout the brewery.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise the maintenance team, assigning daily tasks and monitoring performance.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for all brewery equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems across brewing and packaging lines.
  • Diagnose and repair PLC-controlled systems, sensors, and VFDs.
  • Modify and troubleshoot PLC logic (Allen-Bradley or Siemens preferred) to support production equipment functionality.
  • Maintain and update equipment wiring diagrams and PLC documentation.
  • Fabricate, weld, and modify components and equipment as needed to support production improvements or repairs.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient maintenance shop; ensure tools, equipment, and supplies are stored properly and easily accessible.
  • Manage parts inventory, including ordering, labeling, and tracking critical spares to minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate and track maintenance work orders, spare parts inventory, and contractor/vendor services.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, equipment records, and compliance documentation.
  • Collaborate with brewing, cellaring, and packaging departments to plan and execute maintenance around production schedules.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, parts procurement, and vendor relationships.
  • Identify opportunities for equipment and process improvements to enhance uptime and efficiency.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Train maintenance technicians on safety practices, troubleshooting, and proper equipment care.
  • Support installation, commissioning, calibration, and training end users for all new equipment.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and support after-hours maintenance needs as required.
  • Maintain the facility’s infrastructure including HVAC, utilities, water treatment, and building systems.
  • Responsible for the organization and storage of all maintenance equipment, including proper labeling, cleaning, and upkeep. 
  • Participate in continuing education related to maintenance operations, safety, and regulatory requirements. 
  • Follow Company safety procedures, policies, and SOPs. 

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or food/beverage production environment.
  • 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with beverage packaging or brewing systems (fillers, pumps, conveyors, glycol systems, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of PLC programming, troubleshooting, and controls integration (Allen-Bradley or Siemens preferred).
  • Ability to read, edit, and interpret PLC ladder logic and control schematics.
  • Familiarity with sensors, VFDs, and automated control systems.
  • Experience with basic metal fabrication, cutting, and MIG/TIG welding.
  • Proven ability to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient maintenance workspace.
  • Experience managing parts inventories, including sourcing, stocking, and usage tracking.
  • Working knowledge of CMMS systems, preventive maintenance programs, and spare parts management.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and plumbing schematics.
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and safe work practices.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts.
  • Technical certifications, trade school, or equivalent experience in industrial maintenance, or automation preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
