Armistice Brewing Company is excited to add a Lead Brewer to our tight-knit production team. This is a key leadership role for someone ready to take ownership, support day-to-day brewing operations, and serve as the Director of Brewing Operations’ right-hand partner.

At Armistice, we operate with an “all hands on deck” mentality. Every production team member contributes to brewing, cellaring, packaging, and warehouse work — including deliveries and ingredient pickups. As Lead Brewer, you will perform all of these duties and help ensure the brewery runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently.

This position offers broad exposure to every facet of brewery operations, along with added responsibility for maintaining on-site inventory, identifying maintenance needs, assisting with scheduling and workflows, and acting as an extra set of eyes and hands for brewery leadership. One week you may spend more time on the brew deck; the next you might be managing inventory, overseeing cellar operations, coordinating packaging runs, or troubleshooting equipment. It’s varied, dynamic, and mission-critical.

We’re looking for someone who loves thoughtful, fresh beer; thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment; and brings maturity, accountability, and strong communication. Prior brewing experience is required for this position, ideally in a production setting. The ideal candidate can manage multiple priorities, maintain accuracy and adherence to SOPs, and proactively flag issues or improvements to keep the brewery humming.

Bona-fide Job Requirements:

  • At least 21 years old
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Prior brewing experience required
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts with advanced notice (e.g., early mornings, some weekends and evenings)
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Forklift certification not necessary, but willingness to obtain certification from an OSHA-compliant program is required

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly lift and carry up to 55 pounds
  • Occasionally move kegs up to 160 pounds (with assistance or proper equipment)
  • Frequent bending, stooping, pushing, lifting, kneeling, and reaching
  • Ability to stand for an entire shift, up to ten hours
  • Frequent repetitive hand and wrist motion
  • Work with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment and materials
  • Climb stairs multiple times per day
  • Frequent handwashing
  • Comfortable in a noisy, industrial environment

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Wort production: milling, mashing, lautering, boiling, whirlpooling, knockout
  • Cellar operations: yeast management, fermentation monitoring, dry hopping, fining, temperature adjustments, and CIP/SIP
  • Kegging, canning, and bottling operations
  • Keg washing, line cleaning, QA checks, and carbonation
  • Ingredient and product deliveries/pickups
  • Organizing, rotating, and tracking inventory (ingredients, packaged beer, and materials)
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, organized production environment
  • Act as the “eyes on the ground” for the Director of Brewing Operations
  • Identify equipment or maintenance needs and communicate them proactively
  • Assist with production scheduling, workflow planning, and SOP adherence
  • Monitor supply levels and forecast ordering needs
  • Help uphold Armistice’s quality, safety, and cleanliness standards
  • Represent Armistice Brewing Company at the brewery and off-site events
