Overview

Mother Kombucha is currently seeking a Counter-pressure Filler Operator working with a GAI 3003 12 head filler, 20-30 hours per week with some flexibility in scheduling. Experience with carbonated beverage filler operations required (beer, soda, seltzer, kombucha). This position plays a vital role in the quality of our finished product and requires someone who is detail-oriented, able to multi-task and has filler line operator or similar experience.

Responsibilities:

- Clean and sanitize bottle-filler.

- Prepare bottling line for production.

-Operate and monitor bottle-filler, crowner, labeler and case box builder.

-Watching for jams and issues to prevent downtime due to errors.

- Adjust filler timing as needed

- Communicate effectively with packaging team before, during and after production runs.

-Maintenance on bottle-filler, crowner, label machine and box builder

- Line and equipment general repairs and servicing (with support from outside contractors)

- Troubleshoot and resolve operating difficulties

- Collect required samples needed for Quality Assurance testing

- Ensure that the proper packaging materials are used for each product being produced - match codes across all materials for traceability.

- Regular set communication with other departments, management and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency and quality of the production.

- Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.

- Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible, and accurate format, and completed with required information within set timelines.

- Monitor fill level, seals, caps, lot number, expiration date and general packaging of product.

- Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately

- Follow all required work safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.

- Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designated area.

- Position direct report to Director of Operations

Requirements:

-Strong mechanical skills/work in a mechanical heavy position.

-Experience with food/beverage production machinery, counter pressure fillers preferred but not required.

-Extremely detail oriented - this position is key to assuring the quality of our product.

-Good communicator with a desire to work cooperatively with the entire team.

-Strong understanding of quality standards and health and safety regulations.

-Excellent organizational and communication skills.

-Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand on feet for 8+ hours a day, twist/turn/reach over head and work in standing/walking/crouch positions and on a ladder all at a steady pace.

-Safe chemical handling

-Must be punctual, excellent with time management and available for early morning start time
