Position Summary:

The Sales & Distribution Lead is responsible for driving on-premise wholesale revenue, personally executing self-distribution deliveries, and serving as the primary brand ambassador for Vacancy Brewing in the market. This role manages account relationships, inventory coordination, hands-on deliveries, and works with ownership on sales strategy, while acting as the brewery’s most visible representative outside of the taproom. 

The ideal candidate is highly organized, relationship-driven, comfortable with physical delivery work, and excited to represent Vacancy Brewing’s brand, values, and beer in the field as the brewery continues to grow.


Key Responsibilities:

Brand Representation and Ambassadorship

  • Serve as the primary ambassador for Vacancy Brewing outside of the taproom
  • Represent the brewery professionally and enthusiastically in all account interactions, events and market work
  • Educate buyers (and staff) on Vacancy Beer and brand identity
  • Act as the most visible extension of the brand in the market, upholding brand values, standards, and reputation at all times.

Account Management and Sales

  • Own and grow wholesale sales across on-premise accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with bar, restaurant, and hospitality buyers and managers.
  • Conduct weekly account visits, tastings, and market work.
  • Perform regular line cleanings to maintain product quality at accounts
  • Identify new on-premise account opportunities and manage the full sales cycle (prospecting, placement, reorders).

Distribution, Logistics and Delivery Vehicle

  • Personally make deliveries to accounts on Tuesdays and Fridays.
  • Manage delivery routes to ensure timely, accurate, and professional service.
  • Coordinate delivery schedules and communicate clearly with accounts.
  • Monitor depletion, inventory levels, and out-of-stock risks; proactively adjust plans.
  • Create and process invoices in Quick Books for all distribution orders.
  • Ensure compliance with state and local alcohol regulations.

Delivery Vehicle & Maintenance

  • Ensure and track regular van maintenance, including oil changes and routine service.
  • Keep vehicle state registration, inspections, and required documentation current.
  • Report any mechanical or safety issues immediately and coordinate repairs with ownership as needed.

Planning, Reporting & Forecasting

  • Prepare and share a weekly available product list with accounts (especially non-regular buyers).
  • Track weekly and month-to-date sales, units moved, and performance by brand.
  • Participate in weekly operations meetings with clear data and insights.
  • Forecast demand and coordinate with production and ownership to ensure availability.

Qualifications:

  • 1–3+ years of craft beer, beverage alcohol, or CPG sales experience (distribution experience strongly preferred).
  • Proven ability to build relationships and close sales.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
  • Comfortable analyzing sales data and translating insights into action.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to lift and move kegs/cases as needed.
  • Passion for craft beer and independent breweries.
