Part-Time Brewer — Morton St. Brewing
Framingham, MA | Subsidiary of Right Coast Brands | Home of Winch & Pulley Beer Co.
The role
We're looking for an experienced brewer to run our brewhouse.. This is a part-time position with full operational ownership: you call the shots on the floor, manage your own schedule against the production calendar, and own the liquid from grain bill to glass.
What you'll own
-
Brewhouse & cellar operations — full responsibility for every brew day, transfer, dry hop, and packaging-ready tank. 20 BBL system.
-
Raw material inventory & procurement — malt, hops, yeast, adjuncts, packaging. You manage par levels, place orders, manage vendor relationships, and keep COGS honest.
-
Quality — recipe consistency, sensory, basic lab work (gravity, pH, DO where applicable), CIP integrity. If a beer isn't right, it doesn't leave the cellar.
-
Production planning — work directly with ownership on the brew calendar to align with taproom demand and distribution needs.
-
Cleanliness & safety — a brewery that reflects pride in the work.
What you bring
- 3+ years of professional brewing experience, with at least 1 year running a brewhouse independently
- Strong fundamentals across mashing, fermentation control, yeast management, and packaging
- Comfortable with the math: extract efficiency, attenuation, hop utilization, batch costing
- A palate you trust and a willingness to defend it
- Self-directed — you don't need to be managed
- Forklift experience and ability to lift 55 lb sacks repeatedly
- TIPS-eligible / clean record for ABC compliance
Bonus points for
- Existing relationships with malt and hop suppliers in the Northeast
- Experience with Premier, ABS, Wild Goose
- Lager program experience
- Sensory panel training (Cicerone, Siebel, etc.)
What this is not
- Not a learn on the job role. We don't have a head brewer to shadow.
- Not a clock-puncher gig. We need someone who treats the brewery like it's theirs.
- Not full-time yet — but the right person grows with the business.
Compensation
$25-$35/HR Based on Experience/Flexibility
