Head Brewer - Two Blokes Brewing - Mount Pleasant, SC

We are hiring a full-time Head Brewer at our 7bbl brewery in Mount Pleasant, SC. The right candidate will work with an Assistant Brewer to complete all brewing, packaging, and reporting processes that will contribute to the growth of our brand. We are a small team looking for someone who has experience, enthusiasm, is detail oriented, and is passionate about craft beer.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be 21+
  • Must have 1+ years of relevant brewing experience
  • Must have some experience with canning/packaging
  • Formal brewing education preferred (but not required)
  • Must have the ability to be a team player
  • Must be able to lift 55 lbs (bags of grain), hand truck kegs, spent grain tubs Must be able to work early mornings and occasional weekends

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Brewing & Production:

  • Leading brewery staff in all tasks pertaining to beer production.
  • Planning and writing recipes for new and seasonal beers with the approval of the Operations Manager based on marketability, cost, and time constraints.
  • Completing planned weekly tasks as needed and managing team members to achieve results
  • Ordering ingredients for beer production
  • Ordering brewing equipment and parts when needed and maintaining existing equipment
  • Barrel Program Management - Barrel Care, monitoring aging beer, maximizing sales
  • Firkin Program Management - creating interesting and unique firkins to change out on a weekly basis
  • Conducting brewhouse tours when necessary and training brewhouse staff to do so if needed.

Regular Operations:

  • Creating spreadsheets/calendars to manage the production schedule, monitor progress, increase efficiency, and avoid issues
  • Writing new Standard Operating Procedures for brewery staff when needed
  • Using EKOS to manage brewery operations and promptly update inventory (ingredients,
  • brewhouse supplies, finished goods).
  • Maintaining all brewhouse and production records and data
  • Enforcing OSHA guidelines and manage safety compliance
  • Completing or delegating all cleaning and sanitation maintenance
  • Creating production and labor schedules with Operations Manager based on current
  • inventory and anticipated product.
  • Developing/maintaining relationships with suppliers to optimize quality, reliability,
  • and pricing.
  • Writing detailed beer descriptions for new brews.
  • Working with Operations Manager to plan and prepare orders for distribution.
  • Participating in brewery relation events (festivals, Beer Week, local industry events).
