Position Description: Cody Craft Brewing, Cody Wyoming’s premier brewery and taproom, is looking for a Head Brewer to join and continue its success and growth in the Wyoming beer scene. We operate a US made, 7bbl two vessel direct fire brewhouse with four 7bbl FV and four 7bbl brite tanks. We self-distribute packaged beer to a variety of customer accounts throughout Park County with the plan to expand distribution in summer 2026. We can four flagship beers on a Wild Goose Gosling canning line and utilize an ABS Keg Viking for keg cleaning. We produced 500bbl for 2025 and plan to increase that by at least 25% by 2026. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Brewing:
- Accurately and precisely follow recipes and SOP
- Create new recipes based on market demands
- Data documentation
- Wort Production
- Yeast management
- CIP/SIP/CUP
- Cellaring
- Filtration/fining
- Fermentation monitoring
- Dry-hopping
- Re-circulation
- Fermentation troubleshooting
- Carbonation
- Canning of our 4 (four) flagship brews on a Wild Goose Gosling canning line.
- Tax recording and reporting
- Ensure quality and consistency is met with every batch
- Utilize Beer30 software, Microsoft Word and Excel software
Safety and Sanitation:
- OSHA Safety compliance and continual training
- Observation and practice all Brewery Safety Procedures & practices
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment and infrastructure in collaboration with other brewers and maintenance staff
- Keep brewery and equipment organized in accordance to company standards
Reporting and Communication:
- Maintain healthy communication and work closely with all departments of Cody Craft Brewing to understand the history, style, and our culture.
- Work with to maintain quality and consistency of product
- Maintain brewing, cellaring and other related documentation in an organized, complete and accurate manner; Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner
- Discuss any and all brewery issues with operations manager.
- As needed, provide Subject Matter Expertise and communicate details and specifics about the product for special events such as tasting parties, beer pairing dinners, and other events as identified.
- Manage all brewery operations through Beer30 CMS
Conduct:
- Follows Cody Craft Brewing Company Values and Employee Code of Conduct
- Works courteously and professionally with all vendors and co-workers
- Aid in the professional development of staff & new brewers (as needed)
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Brewing Certificate/Degree or bachelor’s degree in science related field
- 2+ years in a 7BBL sized facility or larger
- Possess a knowledge of brewing and beer styles, as well as a desire to learn more; Genuine enthusiasm for craft beer.
- Quality Control in a food/beverage production setting
- Organized with excellent time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal skills
- Attention to detail
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Ability to identify problems and review information to develop and evaluate options and make timely and sound decisions
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, mathematical and reasoning skills
- Must have an understanding of safety standards
- Must be a team player and have the ability to work with staff to further the company goals
- Strong work ethic and self-starting attitude
- Ability to think outside the box and propose new ideas
- Willingness to regularly work during evenings and weekends
Job Requirements:

- Ability to lift 55 pounds and safely move 165 pounds
- Able to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to tolerate a high-level work pace that is typical for a production Brewery & Taproom
- Able to work 8+ hours on your feet
- Occasionally attend special events such beerfests, marketing events, and related activities.
